If there is FTTC there we can supply that just without phone service.

In the near(ish - depending on legal stuff) future I'll be looking to migrate my Plusnet account to another property. That place has fibre infrastructure. As far as I know the property vendors are using Virgin, but BT stuff is there as well. There is no copper.

However...

The place I'm moving from still requires a broadband connection. Over copper. The property is monitored with CCTV which requires a BB connection and the way things 'work' there a fixed line still appears to be best (despite the low bandwidth). There is something approaching a zero chance of fibre getting there.

Ignore any potential questions about losing landline numbers as my move is out-of-area and the current number cannot be shifted, and the person remaining at the property doesn't want a landland but is willing to continue with Pnet with a new account and there is no landline number at the property being moved to. (But I will be back with VoIP questions).

Anyone who has been through similar? Pitfalls? Stuff that went wrong?

(N.B. mods can move this where they like and I won't complain, but the "Everything Else" just seemed the most logical choice to me).

If you do want to retain any landline numbers, porting them to VoIP would allow you to take them out of area, in fact they can be used pretty much anywhere in the world with an internet connection.

The number is a BT number and I'm not sure they would want it ported in that manner.

As mentioned, the loss of the land line number isn't the main concern. Getting a new landline number isn't a concern in this case.

Continuity of internet services across the two properties is the main concern.
