DNS servers offline?

DNS lookups via Plusnet's own servers - 212.159.6.9 and 212.159.6.10 - seem to be broken (i.e. unable to resolve host names etc.).

I've switched our router/devices to use Cloudflare for now, which has resolved it, but I'm wondering if this is a problem local to us or more widespread?

Internet working fine all day and I’m literally in the middle of working tonight and it’s gone down!!!! Can’t get hold of anyone !!!

Mine has just gone down too. Can't see any issues with the router... I'm hoping just temporary issue their end

Yup mines down too. It's been intermittent all day which never happens, but now it's fully down. Tested everything my end and seems all ok so assuming their end?

DNS servers are not pinging, I just changed my DNS to 8.8.8.8 and back on line

Plusnet's DNS servers have gone offline. I just posted about this in Full Fibre forum - your post seems to confirm this is not just me.

Net connection itself is fine - i.e. if you go to 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare's DNS web page) you should find it works, but any request using a named address won't work.

I haven't experienced problems earlier, but mine completely dropped out a few minutes ago. I'm in Northamptonshire so it's pretty wide spread

Same here. Stopped working about 20:45 rebooted router but it made no difference. Sandhurst Berkshire.

Yes does look that way, neither are responding, i've swapped to 8.8.8.8 for now, and that seems to work.

No broadband here either, I can find no service status page for plusnet either, so I really can't tell if it's their end or mine. I'll have to contact support to find that out I guess.

If you're technically minded you can switch your device (or your router) to use alternative DNS like Cloudflare (primary DNS 1.1.1.1, secondary DNS 1.0.0.1) - instructions here: https://1.1.1.1/dns/

Mine has literally just crashed. Error message is ‘Connected without internet’ and ‘Plusnet access control disabled’. I work from home so hope this is resolved quickly

Yup, looks like PlusNet DNS is down. Changed my PC to use Google and it's fine.

Can't seem to be able to do that to my PlusNet router though, configuration isn't changeable. It's a Hub One.

We are offline too. Annoyingly!

If it’s just DNS surely there’s a way to change the router.
