The Openreach full fibre checker to the home says I can receive the full 900Mbp/s why is it then Plusnet and SKY/NOW all say I can’t. Maybe someone on here has the underground infrastructure maps?.

You need to contact whoever you want to go with and query this, because as you say, it says on there it is available.I note it is flagged as KCI2 Assure, but that just means basically that it requires an OR survey before installation.

Many thanks for your help with this Jab 1. Those OP ISP's above refuse to accept it's available- could it be because City Fibre has just cabled the area? Also while CF's contractors were in our road they said there was no OP ducting or loose fibre cables. Are there any other OP based ISP's I can try?

Have you actually called PN or SKY? They should work from a slightly enhanced version of that availability checker, so why they say 'no' is a mystery to me, TBH. City Fibre may be 'bending the truth' bit there - there shouldn't be any 'loose cables'.

Yes twice because my contract is about to end with PN and I and my neighbours won't move to CF due to the grief they've caused in our street. PN could get a lot of new customers if they get their act togeather. I'm loging off now for diner. Cheers John..

A couple of questions - Is your current service underground or overhead to your property? If it is overhead , have you noticed any additional equipment on your 'telegraph' pole recently? Do you know when the WBC FTTP line appeared on that chart?

OK. Sounds like all OpenReach need to do is install the cable then, which they should have done if they say the service is 'available'.

That sounds a little 'off' to me. If all they have to do is get the fibre cable to you in the prepared ducting, it is not a hard job.

Assuming the text is from the phone number checker and the same as the address checker then you should be able to place an FTTP order. The only thing I can think of is the timing, ie has WBC FTTP very recently appeared on the DSL Checker?

The CF cables should be separate from the OR ones, you could try Talk Talk or Vodafone to see what they can offer, they use CF in many places - not that I recommend either, just to see if you can get a few more bits of the jigsaw!

@mombic

If WBC FTTP is showing as available then the OR network will be complete for that area. A CBT (Connectorized Cable Terminator) will have been installed in the UC chamber serving your house. One one shown below serves me.

I recently watched CF install their duct to this chamber. One large duct came in through the OR main duct from a street cabinet where it was split into 7 smaller ducts in the chamber. Should I ever go with CF then they would use the OR house duct for this purpose, From memory there is plenty of space.

I see no reason why PN would decline an order unless there's something up with the OR system. Did you phone the PlusNet Customer Options Team on 0800 013 2632 to check. If you phone again explain the checker results you have and ask them to submit an Address check (ORDI I think it's called).

Indeed it's all set to go.

When the network serving me was installed the team checked the house ducts where they could get quick and easy access. Two proved problematic so got left but the other 5 were checked and a draw rope left in situ for the fibre pull. One duct had a slight blockage but they were able to push through from the other end.

I believe FTTP is now installed in all 7 houses.

Thanks again Chaps for all the replies. My house is the only one in the street ducted to the house it seems, and was roped by CF a couple of years ago. However that duct ends 2 chambers down and all that’s in them is a copper bundle and CF’s fibre. From there the footways and part of the road were taken up (twice in the end due to faults) and just cable laid in the trench.

Yes next door has had CF for a couple of months and already had 5 or 6 faults. Also the fibre is still above ground across the garden and a path. Cowboys come to mind and the reason no-one here will have them.

I was tempted to raise a question with PN last time I spoke to them but they were so convinced they couldn’t supply FTTH I gave up.

I’m now going to leave you all in peace now as there’s a neighbour also with PN who wants to take over.
Very many thanks again and I’ll let you know the final out come.

Cheers
John.
