Is Plusnet broadband actually any good?

With BT's price hikes it has given me a chance to get out of my contract as the prices are ridiculous, I am thinking of going with Plusnet as they seem very cheap.

They mention that they throttle things like streaming and online gaming at peak times, how prominent is this? Also is it anything like TalkTalk as I have been with them and could get better internet by plugging an Ethernet cable into a potato.

@litch12 Plusnet use the same infrastructure as BT (and a number of other ISPs), so the actual service should be the same. I don't know the age of the articles where you claim to have seen that they throttle streaming &c, but that information is out of date - they don't, although if you are on a congested exchange/SVLAN, you my get what you perceive as such at peak times.

@litch12 Welcome to the forum.

As has been said, Plusnet do not throttle speeds and use the same infrastructure as BT. What you might find different.are the ‘bells and whistles’ included in the package.
