I had the email to say migration would start 6 September but I've not heard anything else. I was surprised that my emails had dried up completely but it was only then that I found the redirect option with PN email is broken. I had my individual mailboxes set up as redirects. I've now changed them to alias so all the mail goes into the main email account I can see that over the the months I must have missed a lot of marketing emails that got dumped in the redirect process which is annoying.

I tried forwarding the mail thats now showing up to my outlook but that failed ( I see there's another thread about that) which is also annoying.

When I added the PN email account to my email client it defaulted to the mail.enmail.co imap server and I am collecting mail successfully with that setting but I thought I stayed on imap.mail.net server until I migrated to Greenby? I can't log in to Greenby as my account is not found which confirms I haven't been migrated.

Can anyone clarify. I'm so glad I decided not to rely on PN Email a few years back when the writing was on the wall that there was little interest in making it reliable. Overall this migration looks like a mess to me.

Plusnet forwarding lacked ARC RFC 8617 hence it became increasingly broken after about 2020
when the emails started being rejected by the major email operators for failing SPF i.e. for looking forged.

Greenby's forwarding process does have ARC & does work.

Seeing an email client's wizard pick mail.enmail.co means your DNS MX Records have changed to mx.enmail.co in readiness for the the migration to Greenby,

Greenby's email server mail.enmail.co offers : POP3 / IMAP / SMTP with SSL/TLS & STARTTLS on the standard ports.

If you are using a recent version of Windows / MS Outlook and your choice of settings do not stick,
close MS Outlook and apply the email settings via the Windows Control Panel.

Thanks. It would have been helpful to have been told about it. I'm feeling a bit dissatisfied with Plusnet. Having stripped out the phone and email, the price is not particularly competitive for a standard offering. Even the hub 2 is inferior to routers offered by the competition. I've got a while to run in my contract but if things stay the same, I'll need to move.

Are you aware that a surprising number of ISPs and AltNet FTTP networks, will offer to pay off your current ISP's exit fees (and you ask), as a sweetener for new customers to switch providers.

Take a look at providers that would consider moving to, and read their small print regarding this, as you might be able to move sooner than you think. !

My preference is for all ISP services un-bundled, price is less important than flexibility & having control.

Just look at the torment that has been caused this year with the retirement of the Plusnet email and the end of Analogue phones occurring in the same time window ... all stuck in a bundle Plusnet refused to break up.

Not wanting to loose long used Plusnet email account during a slow phased migration to Greenby has preventing folks from making other ISP or Phone arrangements.

Not being able to Port the landline number without collapsing the entire bundle has left others totally frozen with no clue what to do and the end of Jan 2027 soon to be under four months away.
