Greenby email when abroad

Just back from holiday and I was unable to send emails (I could receive emails) on my iphone and ipad. I contacted Greenby and their A! bot gave me different outgoing server combinations - surprise, none of them worked!! I persevered with Google and eventually got outgoing server information which did work. If you have the same experience the outgoing server info. is:-

Outgoing Server - SMTP - mail.plusnet.enmail.co

User name - your full email address

Insert your password

leave SSL switched off

Server Port - 25

Hope this saves someone a lot of time if they have the same issue !!

Greenby's BOT is a bit of a pest for providing bad advice.

So been there and hit this some years ago with ISP Orange in France.

Sending via SMTP Port 25 is now considered very bad practice and Port 25 is blocked by many ISP including Orange France.

If you use Greenby SMTP server : mail.enmail.co via Port 465 with SSL/TLS or via Port 587 with STARTTLS
your ability to send via different ISPs and mobile providers should be restored.

Do make sure your IMAP or POP3 connection also have SSL/TLS encryption enabled !
