Is plusnet out of action?

Emails failing to send or pick up. Plusnet's member centre. no announcements. What is happening?

keep getting a notifation that Thunderbird isnot able to send or recieve emails, get this for all email accounts

I use Thunderbird on Linux to access my PlusNet email account using POP3.

Thunderbird has been giving many error messages this morning saying that login to server mail.plus.net with my username has failed.

It is also failing using BlueMail on my Android phone.

There have been no changes to my email configuration on either platform.

+1 there.

Thunderbird running two separate plusnet accounts, each two mailboxes.

All failed to log in

(note that this failure makes Thunderbird ask for a password as it thinks that is the problem)

No setup changes since sucessful mail collections yesterday

Whole plusnet portal (eg to get at webmail) also unavailable

Thanks for that information, @quelquod . I let MailWasher monitor my incoming mail and only open the prorgram when I get a notification - thought it had been quiet.

POP3 server randomly refusing correct login credentials

Continually bothered by pop-ups this morning when my email client (Thunderbird 143) often fails to connect to the POP3 server for both of my in-use mailboxes, even though the credentials haven't changed.

I connect via SSL/TLS at port 995 as usual.

I have the client set to check for new messages every 3 minutes.

If I 'get new messages' manually, this works.

Hope this isn't some form of ad hoc rate-limiting being imposed as the ongoing downgrade proceeds.

This is getting tedious beyond belief. They could at least come on and say 'It's our fault, we're looking into it.'

I just hope they have a roll-back procedure for whatever they have done this morning - but the silence is so deafening, I doubt it.

That would require them to have working internet access - which it seems they do not have any more.

PS - ideas why is this still working ?

Same for me.

Email client (Gmail) keeps asking me to update my credentials even though they haven't changed.

Sometimes it rejects my username and password. Sometimes it says is can't connect to the servers (POP3 and SMTP)

Works fine on my phone using the same email client and credentials.

It's a pain but hopefully it will get resolved their end quickly

Email asking me for password, but not working even when I put it in. Can't reach the Service Status page, and can't even reach the main Plusnet page. Starts to come up, then it tells me "somethings stopped working"!

Webmail is down as well, gives the error "Connection to IMAP server failed".

At least the DNS server seems to be ok.

don't bother trying to DM Plusnet on X as they get round to answering you after 2 weeks which is a trifle too long a response time to make it worth using that method of contact

Same for me. FTTP working fine but no email and access to PN member centre not possible. @bobpullen any update on what's going on?
