email accounts taking up too much space??

Had the inevitiable email saying my mailboxes will be archived if I don't bin some emails out.

thing is, I did a good purge of my mailbox a couple of weeks ago and it currently sits at around 300MB, yet the summary I've just received puts it at close to 550MB...

So my mail client says one figure, and plusnet systems another... I'd like to avoid the mailboxes getting archived when they're not anywhere near as large as the reports make out...

The mail client will only show the mailbox its connected to, if you've got multiple mailboxes the Plusnet system will count all mailboxes

Yes I get that, the summary shows all the mailboxes.

HOwever what I mean is, that summary has my mailbox at 550MB but my client reports 300ish

So wheres that extra 250 coming from?

The Plusnet reports will include all folders - inbox - sent - deleted - and any others.

Yes I'm aware of that, but still the question is when the mailbox reads 300mb on the client for ALL folders within it, why does plusnet report 550mb instead...

Usually because there are folders on the server for which the email clients do not have a subscription.

Nope, all folders accounted for, both in client apps and webmail.
