Emails only showing for 2 weeks on android phone

My friend has an email account with force 9 and has a problem as only emails she has received during the previous 2 weeks show on her phone and then disapoear. I feel there should be some way to change this in settings but settings do not show on her email on her phone so I am at a loss trying to help her. Can anyone offer any suggestions as she finds this very frustrating.

Check the account settings on the phone - there should be an option for how recent email should be presented. What is the email client?

It is a sensible means of not downloading (and storing locally) the whole of the mailbox.

Sadly there is not this option in the email settings.

What is the email client?

Are there emails older than 2 weeks to be seen if the mailbox is accessed using webmail?

I am not sure how to find out what the email client is. Emails are visible when web mail is used but she prefers to use email on her phone as she is away from her laptop quite often.

It is a samsung phone and the email program used is the one that was preinstalled on the phone. Just listed as Mail

Thank you so much. I followed your instructions which worked perfectly. My friend is delighted!. While she would have preferred to have seen earlier ones as well, she can access them on her laptop.
