email timeouts

Hi,

Having trouble retrieving emails for the last couple of days.

Using Claws Mail version 3.17.5. Nothing has changed at my end (other than increasing the timeout value to 100s!)

Occasionally it's OK, but most often it times out. Sample of claws-mail log file:

* Account 'XXXXXXXX@mail.free-online.net': Connecting to POP3 server: mail.free-online.net:110... [2023-11-28 07:35:16] POP< +OK POP3 perditon ready on mail.free-online.net 00029b7a [2023-11-28 07:35:16] POP> USER XXXXXXXX [2023-11-28 07:35:16] POP< +OK USER XXXXXXXX set, mate [2023-11-28 07:35:16] POP> PASS ******** ** Session timed out. You may be able to recover by increasing the timeout value in Preferences/Other/Miscellaneous.

This occurs with two different accounts (the one above and an alias). Occasionally one or the other will connect, but usually either or both fail.

Note -- this also occurs on my wife's computer with different accounts again.

Would be worth while running some connection speed checks.

Thanks, but it's not a connection speed problem - I'm consistently getting ~ 72 down & ~ 18 up.
