Deleting imap email from server...?

My wife uses an iPad for her emails (imap) but deleting them does not seem to delete from the PN server.

We have received a 75% warning and need to selectively delete. Logically this should be possible via webmail but repeatedly trying to get Webmail to work on a desktop PC seems to be Einstein's definition of insanity !!

There must surely be a simple way to do it ?

By default , an IMAP. Clinet will move items to the 'deleted' folder. To remove them, you need to empty the deleted folder

Fairly certain this "double delete" is doing it now.

She loves her ipad but not my thing! Obvious really.

There's,an option on most clients e.g Thunderbird to do an immediate delete by holding the Control key when deleteing, thus avoiding the move to deleted.

Whether a,similar option exists on the ipad client and how you do it I've no idea I'm afraid.

There are advanced options available for when to remove items from the “trash” folder for a mail account.
Either:
Never
A day old
A week old
A month old

That’s a bit of a moot point. Plusnet house keeping removes everything deleted (moved to the trash folder) more than 8 days ago, every week.
