Webmail down?

Just tried to log into webmail and received an error page saying:

DATABASE ERROR: CONNECTION FAILED!

Unable to connect to the database!
Please contact your server-administrator.

Anyone else seeing this?

@diatomdeb Yep, seems like it's fallen over - I'll check proper mail and report back.

EDIT - Mail via clients is OK.

Yes, email via mail app is fine, it's just webmail that's not working.

A good reason why I don't - and never have - use webmail. Wonder if it is fall-out from the earlier major issue?

Thanks for getting in touch everybody and apologies for the delayed staff response.

We were aware of some issues with webmail this morning, and I'm glad to see that things are working now.

Let us know if you have further issues or there's anything else you'd need help with.

Webmail starting to get very slow to open again. Even had a couple of server error messages, although a 3rd 'refresh' finally opened the page properly, but took nearly 30 secs to open. Tried a few more times after logging out with no further error messages, but still slow to open the webmail page.

I'm sorry to see you're having issues with webmail. I'm not aware of a known problem with it now.

Does basic webmail work OK or does this just affect advanced?

I seem to be having problems with webmail too.

I almost never use it, but I deleted an email on my PC and thought I would re-send it back to myself at another address. Once I log in, I can't see any emails in my inbox, attempting to change the mailbox to "sent" or "deleted" does nothing, trying to logout fails too.

No luck with basic webmail either.

Thanks a lot for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear that you're also having issues with your Webmail service. Are you having this problem with all of your inboxes on the account? If not, please send me a PM with the affected inbox and I'll have a look to see if the emails are still on the server on our end.

Basic webmail works ok, except when I delete messages, sometimes it throws up an error message. But it's much faster to open and display messages than 'advanced'.

It sounds like webmail has been playing up lately, but we aren't aware of any major issues with the email service. If webmail is being a little difficult, use your clients for now and give it a go every now and again.
