Send Message Error

I have recently started to have problems sending via Thunderbird see error message below.

I still recieve incoming emails

I am running the latest Win10 with McAfee Live Safe

I have checked all Out going server settings

I have another external email account which functions OK

The other email address in with Ionos.co.uk both settings are identical on both apart from the provider

Thanks a lot for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear that you're having problems with your email service. We first need to establish the source of the issue.

Are you having issues sending emails to the same recipient using a different email address?
Are you able to log into webmail and try and send an email from there?

I am unable to send emails without getting the error message

I have tried sending via webmail with no problem

I have gone through the Thunderbird troubleshooting procedure with no result have also checked all SMTP settings

@TedC 'relay denied' usually means that you are not authorised to send via the server.

Which SMTP server are you using to send ?

If it's the PN one , relay.plus.net , then are you sending from a Plusnet connection ?

I'm sending from smtp.freenetname.co.uk

Which is part of Plusnet via madasafish I have been using this since I started with Freenetname

the problem only started recently

Hi @TedC

I'm sorry to see you're having issues sending mails still.

Could you try setting up Thunderbird to use the Plusnet outgoing mail server settings from Here?

This should work even though you're using a domain hosted on a Freenetname account.

For the username you'd use your full email address and then the password you'd use to log in to webmail.

Let me know how it goes.
