Just posted, in Internet Event Calendar and noticed an additional feature...

Remove Post
But...... Not on this post !!
Is it Forum specific ?
ie Internet Event Calendar ?
If so, can we have it on other Forums too please ?

It saves people going back removing posts which would render other replies to that post confusing.
Many forums also only allow editing of posts for a certain amount of time after posting for the same reason.

Does it matter though that the topic has continuity? There is no law that requires forums not to have deleted posts.
I gotta say, I think PlusComUK is onto something myself.

Why not take more care and consideration when posting ?
There should be no need to delete any post, other than under exceptional circumstances by the moderators.

You have fallen into the trap !
If 'picbits' was able to delete that entry, then your post wouldn't make sense, or at least cause many people to unnecessarily re-read the thread.
Can you imagine what happens in a complex argument with multiple contributors, when one person starts deleting entire posts, and then denying what they had previously said at a particular time (which has now disappeared entirely).

Why is it not allowed to report one's own post?
There are circumstances where one may really want a post deleted and reporting to a mod with a request to delete would satisfy the requirement while keeping a sane control instead of the current "You can't report your own post to the moderator, that doesn't make sense! "

I don't know as it isn't an option in the permissions we can change.
It just has the ability or otherwise of reporting a post
