Colours are terrible.

When are the colours going to be changed on this forum? It looks as though it's been through the wash to many times. I much prefer the old forum colours, at least they don't cause eye strain. Pink, pink and more pink!!

I agree, the colour scheme is terrible but ISTR that SMF is skinable, maybe a few skins wouldn't go amiss.

I just found that you can change the skin yourself to one of the default ones. Go to Profile then Look and Layout Preferences then Current Theme: XXX (change). Just need to get Colin to add a few more

Got to agree, colours are not going to be popular! Personally I think they are a little too light for a white background.
Any chance of some choices then?

Yes have to agree something definitely needs be done about the colour, it is drab and looks like something that has been through a car wash ;D.

another vote here to get the colours changed, much to 'soft'. We're not all 20-somethings with 20-20 vision you know 😉

Why don't you just give us a choice of themes, just like the unhacked phpBB board etc etc.. being stuck with one colour is rather boring you know - and besides, what difference does it make to anyone else if you want your theme colour to be bright orange or similar?

Yep, agreed... the pink text on white background has to be the worst colour combination for readability. If themes aren't allowed, then can;t the default be changed to black text on white background - surely the best colour combination for text based forums?

This is pale washed-out pink!
To me the forum seems to be using a slightly paler washed-out version of what I'm writing here in something that's described as purple.

I'd call it pinky-purple, puce-like. Not nice. Can't change them using the options available in profile so wearing coloured spex. Occam's Razor (google it :))

Just want to add my support for making the pink link colour darker please - I dont want to have to adjust my monitor settings just for this site and then back again after each visit.

Another vote!
Magenta on white is not a colour mix most developers would use for website text. It also may be problematic for those with colour discrimination problems or deficient eyesight. So why use it for the Subject text - which is, after all, what readers scan first on each page

I've had to resort to employing the Stylish add-on in Firefox to revert the colours to a standard black on white.

I've finally figured out THE problem with this colour scheme - there's just far too much white!
