Thanks button on posts

One thing would be nice to have.
A 'thanks' button for registered/loggedin in used to click against each post.
the MoneySavingsExpert savings forum site has them.
So also against each poster idendity would be a tally of posted xxx times, thanked yyy times.
and against each post there would be a "xxx users have thanked this post"
Several times I've seen a very useful interesting educational posts and wanted to thank the user for their time etc.
But just writing a post to say thanks for their comments seemed a bit wasteful of forum space.
Those posters with large number of thanked/posts made ratio would be listened to more closely than those with the throwaway comments that add nothing in particular.
