I know how to paste a long url into a post but how do I call it a sensible (and much shorter) name? in other words how do I shorten the name of a url as I can in Word. How do I put a link to the results page of my local table tennis league website (believe me. I never would; my figures don’t make nice viewing :-[) and call it ‘table tennis’ rather than http://mylocaltabletennisassociation etc etc?

You can do it using [url] tags
eg
[url=www.plus.net] Name of link here [/url]
would give
Name of link here
