I am now seeing massive delays - part waiting for the site and the rest waiting for Google Analytics - has this started early and messed something up

When's this work happening?
This afternoon.
What does it affect?
The servers used to host our Community website.

We will be moving some of the servers used to host our Community Site to a new data centre in Sheffield.
Is it likely to cause problems?
No it shouldn't do, the master servers are housed in a different data centre and aren't being moved as part of this work.
Is there anything else I need to know?
No.

It's almost ground to a halt. Guess it's to do with the servers being moved but surely this problem could have been anticipated and the work done at a more sensible time.

Yep - We weren't expecting any impact!
Bob 's getting a service status out currently and we'll try and get things back to normal as soon as possible.

Sorry JemeseH, that this site is so slow, Tuned the tele on while I was waiting and a 60 Minute program about Ashridge House, was on last night and now nearly finished on ITV3, no repeats on my list, just watching the last four minutes

Service Status here. Initial thoughts are that we're hitting the maximum limit for database connections. More news as we have it...

We are now running dual hamsters in a CAGE-1 configuration.
We're looking into the root cause, but we've applied a workaround in the interim.

We are running on half the platform following some problems with the earlier maintenance and its not doing things as it should be (again). Won't happen again this evening, i'm nearly done.

I think Plusnet really ought to have a long hard think about what this sort of problem does for its credibility. If Plusnet appears error-prone when handling its own systems then customers will be more liable to blame Plusnet for any sort of problem they experience with their internet connection, whether or not the fault actually lies with Plusnet. So the volume of calls and complaints and customers leaving for another ISP is liable to rise.

To be fair - we're moving Datacentres currently and we're talking about a BIG move.
Whilst I don't agree with what you're saying, you are of course, entitled to an opinion.
