Can we have a newbie section?

We've had a few new posters this week popping into the forum to say hello. Would it not be a good idea to have a designated section for this?
BTW welcome to the newbies and hope that you keep in touch on the forum.

That's the thing about this forum.....the whole board is newbie friendly.
Some of the new members appear quite overcome with the welcome they receive, must be unusual I suppose.

I think you're right.
Us old stagers who have been using forum's , newsgroups for years maybe don't appreicate what it like for relatively nebies
So maybe a welcome forum section would be a good idea

Hasn't something along these lines been suggested before specifically with a slant towards familiarising newbies with the forum rules.

If there is it would need to be at the top not hidden in General Chit Chat
I wonder is a sub forum of Your Feedback would be a good idea.

Didn't seem that popular! A lot of people would be very reluctant to dive into a bit of an "unknown" and give out personal infomation, especially these days.

We've had 'introduce yourself' threads before, well one that I can remember, but that one was mostly populated by regulars fleshing out their profiles (if you'll pardon the expression).
