Forum bug: Uread posts remain unread after reading

I am again encountering read posts remaining unread. This includes posts I have just made**, which IIRC have never before reported as unread.

One which immediately comes to mind is in the SU board asking for a change for the social team privileges in the photos topic.

**Edit - Thinking about this, the only time I recall posts which I make which results in them being marked unread are items I post via the act of using the SU escalation function.

I've had this where posts I've split or merged will sometimes not be marked as read until I mark all posts as read.
It's not reproducible and infrequent,

I see it regularly. Nothing clever - go to board - read an unread post - back to board - still showing the post as unread.
