Error message on replying to a Private Message

I have received a PM from a member, who I have had many messages to and from in the years past... however, this latest one, gives me an Error Message

When I try to reply to him...

don`t think I have changed anything.

and why would I change it on this person, even if I knew how ? ? ? ? . ..

so why is this happening? Please FIX IT ...

I have noticed that even with PMs turned off (like I have) a user can still send them but the recipient would be unable to reply, so this may well be the case here, and in fact there is no issue with the messaging system after all.

I agree with @Anonymous

It seems the member you are trying to contact now has PMs turned off.

Thanks for the replies, guys !...

Stramge that @Anonymous should say a sender can still send when it is turned off at the recipients end... cos I couldn`t send it, hence the post here.... however... I have been in contact with the guy... and ................

One of you knows who it is then ! ! ! !

Glad it's sorted @shutter.

What @Mook was alluring to is that even though a member may have PMs disabled they can still send PMs out (haven't tested this myself) but anyone replying or starting a new message to them would get the error you reported.
