Could you please have a look at these readings, I've bought a new Tp link router to replace the old one, had problems since January had line tested ok then new filter OK and new cable to router ok, plugged into main bt socket still load of errors so bought new router and still got it in main socket, Main socket only one in house no extensions, live about 140 mtrs from exchange. Been with Plusnet for about 18 yrs worst case I've ever had.
Regards
Jono
Before
Upstream
Downstream
Current Rate (kbps)
19000.
76951
Max Rate (kbps)
22820
78578
SNR Margin(dB)
8.1
6.3
Line Attenuation (dB)
10.8
6.5
Errors (pkts)
814
o

After
Upstream Downstream
Current Rate (kbps) 19000 76162
Max Rate (kbps) 23331 96387
SNR Margin (dB) 8 6.1
Line Attenuation (dB) 0 6.4
Errors (pkts) 0 0

Results look excellent both before and after. How are these errors manifesting themselves? More importantly, are you connecting to the router over cable or wireless?

Thanks for getting back to me, results are found using my computer connected via Ethernet cable directly to computer and with WiFi when I'm in the same room with router connection directly in Bt test socket until I make sure everything is back to normal, I've never had that many errors after just 3 days, at first in January connection kept dropping that's when I noticed something wrong and errors but errors were just on upload side.
Top readings have not moved at all still 19 up 76 down.
I will give it a few days then move new Router back up to my computer room.
Thanks once again
Jono

I'm sorry but I can't make sense of your reply.

When your computer is connected to the router, are you getting errors or connection drops?

How are you detecting 'errors'?

If the connection is dropping, are the lights on the router changing?

If you only have a problem when connected over wireless, then regardless of how close yout computer is to the router, you have a wireless problem.

Sorry about that, connection started dropping so fitted new filter then didn't drop anymore but had constant errors, I found this by looking into Router stats, I phoned help line and they tested line and said that it was ok. Yesterday I bought a new Router which stopped the errors readings, I just wondered if the new readings were ok, the current rate has never moved much at all.
Hope this explains it better.
Regards
jono
