      <title>Multiple disconnects since local Openreach work</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;A request for PN.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Following the recent bad weather, Openreach (and others) carried out work on the line near us no more than 100 metres away.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Until then the connection had been rock solid for months except for a couple of planned power cuts.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Since this local work our ADSL2+ has been disconnecting frequently, initially 2 or so times a day &amp;amp; now 4 or 5.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Router log shows what appears to be an external termination.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Unable to contact OR directly, I have to resort to asking PN to test the line themselves and also contact Openreach to check our line and exchange settings.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;PN: let me know if this needs a ticket (if such still exists.)&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Thanks, DtV.&lt;BR /&gt;Unfortunately, PN passed the baton to BT who wanted to cut our line for an indefinite period. I was working on something else very important so asked them to stop right there which they did.&lt;BR /&gt;With the urgent item out of the way, I will try again Thursday after one more internal check tomorrow.&lt;BR /&gt;ITM, we're getting 4 to 6 disconnects a day usually starting at dusk which has me thinking. While there was a lot of work going on at midnight very near to us on Friday 14th and a planned power cut on the 4th, the last time we had so many disconnects was a few years ago following a severe rain storm - the culprit was the junction box atop the pole from which the copper line is taken for our house. Friday week ago was another torrential rain event and we've had a lot more since. &lt;BR /&gt;(Long, boring, aside. That last time PN, commentators here and even BT all said it was an internal fault. I knew otherwise. I eventually got BT out and their engineer found the problem after checking the entire line from the exchange. Since then the connection has been near perfect.)&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Once we've been through the necessary checks, I will report. Who knows what it is?!&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
