If I recall correctly you are on the end of a very poor ADSL line?

Is your speed below your minimum guaranteed speed?

Hey @stathe,

Sorry to hear you have been unwell, and I hope things are better. I have checked the Broadband speeds for you and have not found any faults on the line. I can see that for the last 30 Days, the speeds of your line have been averaging 2 Mbps, which should be great for your line.

I do have a couple of questions regarding the setup of your home.

1) You mention your connection is slow. Is this for all of your devices or just one?
2) The devices that are connected to the internet are they connected wirelessly or with a cable from the back of the router?
3) Are you using any Wi-Fi boosters inside your property?

Prior to my hospital stay the speed was in fact usualy at 1-8 I am almost 90 not computer literate so unable ton respond as youb would likeWe have been through this many times unfortunately i have no names but do know it can be improved and must be in myn comunity history Thankmyou

You've been advised before )see https://community.plus.net/t5/Broadband/Very-slow-almost-unusable/m-p/1991482#M369436) that with a line attenuation of 71dB you are very lucky that ADSL works at all.

@Marsh

Is FTTP or SoGEA available at this location?

If yes, then the best solution for this user might be migration to EE with digital voice FOLLOWING their email service novation to Greenby. Unless there is a line issue giving rise to the 71dB attenuation seen last year, this line is never going to perform better. Indeed it is astounding it works at all.

Such are the joys or idyllic rural settings.

So what will happen when PSTN is withdrawn, since Plusnet don't offer SOADSL?

Then the account will have to move to an ISP such as BT/EE, who will have a SOTAP product. Just like customers who want to keep a combined broadband/phone service/

I don't think EE offer SOADSL - they certainly don't in my ADSL only area.

And I'm also not certain BT will commission a sub 2Mbps ADSL line (maybe not sub-USO?) as in theory I could get a ~6Mbps ADSL connection but BT direct me to EE 4g (15Mbps for £53+pm or 30Mbps for £75+pm) and that doesn't offer VoIP.

We have been long time people and managed with the line Strangley after a while not used it is reduced aaaaaaaaaain have to try and makev bab fuss it works with not normal settings I Nthink

But there's no need yet. We don't know what will happen in the next 12 months. The OP has sufficient up and down bandwidth to support a VoIP service, providing it's connected to a router with voice QoS priority, such as those provided by BT/EE..

You are quite right to hang on as you are. Once your email hosting is transferred to Greenby then that's one less thing for you to worry about.

Have you registered with PN as "vulnerable"? If not, you should do so via your Member's page on PN. This ensures they take more care when the change over finally arrives.

Did you check the OR website as I suggested. The response to the post code checker will be one of the following.
