Is anyone else seeing slowdowns on Google services? I'm on Plusnet FTTC 80/20 and my Smokeping monitoring system, which I use to keep an eye on my FTTC WAN connection, is showing odd latency issues pinging google.com. This seems to be coincident with a slowdown accessing various Google services, most noticeably on maps when loading the 3D satellite imagery. Attached is screenshot of my Smokeping graphs. I'm also pinging bbc.co.uk and bing.com and they are both normal.

Router WAN IP is 195.213.149.x (last digit removed)

WAN gateway IP is 172.16.19.53

As it is only appears to be Google that slowed down, perhaps next time it happens, try running a traceroute (or equivalent on your OS) - to see whether the traffic route to Google is going via some unexpectedly long path ?

In the past I've seen sites that appeared unexpectedly slow (that normally reside in London) get routed via Germany or Holland, due to some temporary peering or other transit issue - which showed up as being the problem when the traffic path was mapped with a traceroute.

My current IPv4 trace route to google.com -
