I received an email yesterday about renewing and the screen that followed said I could renew the contract at the same price, but from clicking through the links, that doesn't happen and so the contract stays as it is - until August 2025.

Via the mobile version, surprise surprise, it only allows me to renew if I upgrade! Sorry, I'm not interested in paying more, unsurprisingly, so is this all marketing guff about renewing at your current price?

Does your contract include a phone service?

Assuming you're on FTTC if it does, look very closely at what is offered to ensure it's not Internet ony (a SOGEA line).

Be aware that if you change your package - e.g. change the speed of your FTTC - then your PSTN phone line goes away. You should be able to renew your current package (with phoneline) by phoning in.

Try phoning the PlusNet Customer Options Team on 0800 013 2632 to see what's available.

As stated you can currently renew "as is" but in the near future you will lose the phone service - whether you like it or not. If this matters then you should have a look around for VOIP options now so you at least have on idea of what's out there.

Yes I called them and the deal only exists if I don't have a landline - otherwise it increases to £27 and month immediately.

I'm not sure what to do now. Maybe other providers but they'll all increase their fees by £3 pm in March. Maybe another mobile SIM for emergencies

Do you use the phone much? If not have a look at A&A for VOIP while staying with PN for internet. Bit of work to get things set up (you'll need to buy an ATA) but good prices. Downside is no call plan.

https://www.aa.net.uk/voice-and-mobile/voip-information/

If you're not wedded to PN you couild look to move to Zen Internet - not the cheapest but good reputation with no mid contract price rise. Their VOIP service is integrated into the router.
