When it was working, all the usual porn sites were blocked. Yesterday, my wife mentioned that she could access them. I checked this out and can confirm that this was the case

I checked the categories on safeguard and they were all marked as blocked. Safeguard was also marked as active.

I had this self-same issue some time back and it was eventually assigned as a bug which took some weeks to resolve.

It’s clear that something has changed and needs restoring.

I have just noticed that safeguarding has stopped working. This has happened before and it seemed to take weeks that fix. Please can you sort it as I have teenagers sons that I’d like to ensure can’t accessed blocked sites.

Thanks

Can you explain in what way you perceive it has stopped working?

Which DNS servers are being offered / are configured?

Safeguarding can be defeated by changing the DNS servers configuration on the device: safeguarding is not implemented by restricting access, but by restricting name resolution.

Just checked the DNS servers listed in the router:

Primary’ 213.120.234.42

secondary 213.120.234.38

What’s the DNS setting in the device accessing the internet.

They are certainly the published safeguarding DNS servers.

Would you know if you have a static or dynamic IP address? Network connectivity is entirely different for each. Note that the DNS addresses are load balancers - not actual DNS services.

@dave / @bobpullen - any thoughts please?

Thanks for the reply.
We have a dynamic IP address, and every device on the network is affected, including iPads and phones.

We’ve had issues with this before, it took the tech team quite some time to resolve it. I think, although may be wrong, the safeguard process is handled by a different agency?
