Can still set the wifi up on a pre-existing/old router all they need to do is go to the routers configuration settings and change the wifi network name and passcode to whatever they want and then connect whatever devices they want to the wifi network

You wont be able to get internet access on devices connected to the Wifi network until its been set up, but the rest of the Wifi network should still work fine

Hello! I just moved into an apartment and need to set up the wifi. The previous tenant left a plusnet router but I have no idea how to set it up and create a new account that’s linked to this router. What should I do?

Have you taken over the previous connection?

What make and model of router is it?

If you are a new account holder you would be far better off using a new Plusnet supplied hub as this will autoconfigure with your account details. Plusnet will supply one for the P&P charge of someting like £7.

My take on the query is different, I believe the OP thinks its a simple matter of taking over the existing service and router and getting an almost immediate service.

As we all know, that's not possible, they will need to place an order with Plusnet, who will place an order with Openreach to supply the service and Plusnet will supply a new router. Assuming there is no pending cease in existence, if the existing connection is FTTP then service could be available within 2-3 days, if its FTTC then its likely to be 10 days.
