Is there a broadband outage right now?

I would say no.

In terms of the Openreach infrastructure, Zen have a nice status page

https://status.zen.co.uk/broadband/outages.aspx?number=0207

Arguably Plusnet should have something similar.

If you currently have a fault it's probably fairly local to you.

Do remember that Plusnet is a "domestic" service, so not priced or resourced for business style SLAs.

Any professional firm worth it's salt has a Service Status page.

Can someone advise where Plusnet's is as when all the Support Team wander off home at 19:00 / 20:00 what helps customers is that at least the Engineering Team, who may not want to deal with a plethera of customer calls whilst they are dealing with an outage, have a place to provide customers short updates.

It's called basic Comms.

Having "Product Owned" Financial Trading systems for one of the big two data information providers this is not rocket science.

IS THERE A BROADBAND OUTAGE RIGHT NOW?

In that case perhaps it's a return of the DNS server problem of a couple of days ago.

I don't disagree about the desirability of a service status page.

However Zen is the only "large scale" domestic broadband supplier I know that has one.

Andrews and Arnold have one but they are a bit more "specialist".

Also as a residential ISP Plusnet do not supply critical broadband to anyone. If you want to support professional jobs you have to pay for a business service and pay again for some alternative back up connection via a mobile service or another ISP.

Wow, there is a lot of apologists here.

If a domestic customer who is a professional person who works around the clock solving problems can't gain access to the Internet via their WAN/LAN network then they are a business?

I don't really care as I can get on the Internet via othermeans, but a Service Status page is a basic when Support shuts up shop at 19:00 / 20:00.

BTW: I believe it is a DNS issue as that's what I'm experiencing. Where should I have looked on the Plusnet main site or is the way this is communicated via the Forum......

It's a shame they don't publish a service status via a separate external means BUT this is what I find, i.e. no issues: PlusNet current problems, issues and service status | Downdetector

User reports indicate no current problems at Plusnet.

There is a Plusnet DNS failure every 4 months - last September, January, and May, so one is due this month - it might be what happened a few days ago but that would be a few days earlier in the month than before though.

Could be.

I got bounced back onto Spamhaus Zen again a couple of days ago as I run an email server on a Residents Static IP that Plusnet sanctioned 12 years ago before they did business accounts.

Then changed their policy a few years ago and I now have to respond to Black listing a few times a year....

I have had the same contract for 17 years, they responded really quickly, during office hours...., when I needed to add the reverse domain lookup when I moved my DNS to Cloud flare.
