Some devices I have take a long time to connect to the internet. The worst is a new Windows 11 laptop Geobook 140. Today I had it on for several hours before it eventually connected. I then did some software upgrades and had to restart it and now it is still saying No internet secured on the broadband. I don't have Avast installed on this one.

My main Windows 10 desktop PC sometimes connects quickly but other times can take five minutes or more to connect on a wired connection. I have Avast on this one. I'm convinced that Avast is behind this one becoming slower to connect.

My HP Windows 11 laptop usually connects almost right away. This also has Avast anti-virus. I've recently upgraded my Sky+HD to Sky Q and it seems like since then the Geobook started becoming harder to connect.

Any help would be appreciated.

With the wifi devices, are they connecting to the hub fairly quickly - can you bring up the hub's internal webpages on them? That would clarify whether it's the wifi link that's the problem, or further down the line.

When one of them won't connect (or is taking its time about it), are other devices accessing the internet OK?

I'm not sure if wifi devices are connecting to the hub fairly quickly. Most of my devices are wired connections. One smart TV on a wired connection is hard to get connected but other devices seem to connect fairly easily. My mobile phone is on a wireless connection and connects/disconnects as I move around the flat as the wifi isn't very strong in some rooms.

I can get the main router page up that shows the list of connected devices. is there a limit to how many devices can be connected at one time?

Today i received a new Hub 2 router to replace the Hub 1 router and what a difference that has made now devices are connecting immediately to the internet with no delay that I can see. My Geobook took several hours to connect on Friday last today it was almost instant!
