Hi, I have been with Plusnet 2 weeks tomorrow 22nd after not renewing contract with BT as Plusnet was half the price.

My issue is Plusnet adviser told MeI I would get 50mb which i though was better then BT as i was getting between 32-36Mb the last 2 years. I have been doing speed tests everyday and its maxing out at 37Mb so what's going on? Last night it was dropping down to 22Mb. The package states 38-52Mb, So I'm not even getting the minimum. Surely there must be something not right here.

I'm sure forum members can advise but first state your line provision, is it the older ADSL, FTTC or FTTP? It sounds like FTTC or fibre to the cabinet, my own 40/20 package until upgrading last year giving around 35-37MB. If this is your package then your quoted 37MB is fine, as Pnet uses the same lines and equipment as BT you cannot expect more speed until you go to FTTP, ie to the premises.

I don't know why you were quoted 50MB if this is the case but let us know and we'll try to help.
