"As regards WFH, although the T&C's say you shouldn't use a residential account for business, I think you will find they (like most ISPs) turn a blind eye to it, given the number of people like yourself."

I saw an unofficial definition / interpretation somewhere, and it might have been referring to BT Broadband rather than Plusnet, which said that Working From Home using a residential line was OK provided that you were working for someone else - ie you were an employee of a company.

However, if you were self-employed and your home was effectively the "Head Office" of the company, (in practice rather than the registered address), then a business account should be used.

Hi, is the data usage truly unlimited? Are there any fair use policies/network shaping?

Is it the same across different packages?

Also I work from home using a residential account, is this permitted? I saw in the acceptable use, it’s allowed occasionally, I work 4,5 days a week for a company. Wanted to check if it’s okay.

Thanks.

If working from home using a residential account and there's a line problem you have to accept it may not be quickly fixed.

Working from home is pretty standard these days, particularly since covid. Plusnet's T&Cs disallow home-working, but they used to have a business account you could use instead. Since they no longer offer a business account I can't believe they would enforce the rules (there's nothing they could gain by doing so) - and if they did the worst they could do is cancel your contract.

However, as others have mentioned, when using a residential service for work there is a risk that any faults may take a while to get fixed. It is wise to have a back-up plan - 4G/5G is often a good fall-back, but it is worth getting that in place before you need it.
