I've been on SoGEA for a while and haven't noticed any degradation in quality or speed of the broadband.

I will soon be switching from FTTC to Fibre SoGEA broadband which still uses a copper connection from the cabinet.

What are your experiences of this? Is the connection any more stable or faster without the landline?

If my broadband goes down (like it has twice this year) how do start diagnostic tests or report the fault?
Obviously I can't dial 17070.

As for fault testing, who knows.🤔

@ToeKnee60 I have just switched to SoGEA (not with PN, though). From my conversations with my ISP and from what I have read elsewhere, the loss of the 17070 isn't a real issue, as that circuit isn't in use with SoGEA. Obviously, if the copper between you and the Fibre cab gets disturbed/damaged, then you will lose your BB connection, or it will be impacted, but the advice I received was 'just report a fault, we'll get OR out to investigate'. Obviously I don't know what PN's response will be, but it should be similar.

As to speed - it makes no difference.
