Ian using my I pad, wi Fi signal constantly disappears and returns.
I have restarted the router which is only about 5 weeks old and reset the I pad and reset the network connection

Do you have a desktop/laptop? - this sounds to me from the limited information to be a external network issue, and iPads are not the best kit to get the required data from.

OK. So does the same issue occur on the laptop? By external issue, I mean a possible fault in the BT/OR network.

I’ll try the laptop later.
The blue light on the router remains constant so I assume it’s not losing the broadband signal ?

When I used it yesterday I was sitting in the same place and it was not being moved

Thanks. A comparison with the laptops behaviour would be useful.Does the iPad default to 4G/5G when you 'lose' the Wi-Fi signal?

John, my iPad does have a sim so just cuts out as soon as the wi fi signal disappears. I rarely use the lap top so will have to fire it up and wait for it to update before checking. Steve

As far as I know it doesn’t have a sim of any kind. I haven’t installed one and I can’t see anywhere to fit one.

FYI, all iPads, AFAIK, have a SIM slot on the side, but if you have never put one in, you probably haven't noticed it - they are identified by a 'pinhole' into which you push a small pointed object.

I have had a good look at mine, there is no slot. It was bought without it.

Sorry - I forgot there were Wi-Fi only versions - a mine have been 4/5G capable. Must get my caffeine refill.😀

Could this problem be caused by co-channel WiFi interference from a neighbour disrupting the Op's own signal, rather than a problem with their router?

@Anonymous Possibly, but without a little more detail it is unwise to guess. From experience though, I am still inclined to suspect a network issue.

We'll see when the OP has the laptop running and we can get more information.
