V slow page loading

Had plusnet for a week and it's painfully slow to load new pages.
It's fine to view HD video on utube, but takes over a minute to load a new page if it doesnt time out
Anything I can do?

Changed wifi channels but still slow loading new pages and links even stood information of the router

Are any WIRED devices showing issues?

Do you have multiple WiFi access points?

Are there any ethernet over power adapters in your configuration?

If possible @Davegan could you connect a device to the router with a network cable and see how the speeds compare when connected to it that way? - Adam

Multi WiFi devices connected, only 1 WiFi router
No ethernet power adapters
Will connect laptop via ethernet and advise in a few days

Tried lots of devices, windows laptops are OK both WiFi and connected.

Android mobiles struggle to load pages, apple mobiles are OK.

There are 3 Android phones in the house and all struggle to load pages

Assuming that the router is working correctly, I suspect that the problem is that the 2.4 and 5ghz signals use the same said, but I can't find a way to separate them on the plusnet 2 router.

Any guidance ?

I disabled the 2.4 and the 5ghz was slow loading pages

I then disabled the 5 and the 2.4 worked much better.

So it appears that the 5ghz wifi is the problem, we've tried this on multiple channels and I have a WiFi scanner, there is no neighbour interference.

On the basis of your observation that all devices other than androids work without issue, one has to suspect the android platform.

There is a legion of reports on Google of slow WiFi performance with android, many citing the fact that the phones are "slow".

We've had the Android phones for a few years and there were no problems with them loading pages on Vodafone or on BT supplied wifi routers. So the problem is not with the phones.

I'm not happy with this level of support.

Thanks for the calls Adam, I've been away for a few days, the new router has the same issues,WiFi android devices are slow to load pages, and sometimes time out.

Wired devices are OK and WiFi on Ios are also OK.

I tried 2 of the android phones on another WiFi network yesterday, they loaded pages quickly.

Not sure what the problem is

No problem and thanks for getting back to me, it would suggest an issue with the Android devices as it's not happening with other devices and is still a problem with a new router in place.

I'll get back in touch as soon as I can today to follow things up with you, is there a good time for a phone call sometime before 8pm please?

@Davegan have you got Private DNS enabled on the android devices by any chance ?

Settings>Network & Internet>Advanced>Private DNS
