topic Router keeps dropping out in Broadband

Hello all, just recently, let's say the past week my router has started dropping out and going through it whole orange flashing light, orange light, blue light procedure up to and possible more than ten times a day. If it is doing any "heavy lifting" such as me playing a game on my PS5 or steaming on my TV it will drop out regularly, this is now becoming unbearable. I have checked all connections and my main telephone socket and all seems to be ok. Any suggestions as to what I can try next? I've searched a few forums and there is a suggestion it's a router problem.
Many thanks,
William.

Assuming FTTC or ADSL - not Fibre to the Premises?

Have you tried a "Quiet Line Test"?

Plug a corded phone in to the master phone socket, dial 17070, select option 2.

Apart from the occasional announcement, there should be absolutely no noise/sound at all.

And if that passes, come back and say so. My suspicion is that there is a problem in the BT/OR network.

Thanks for the quick response, I shall definitely give that a try, I just need to dig my corded phone out of the attic!

@William72

Do you have a Hub One?

As the "light going through it whole orange flashing light, orange light, blue light procedure" is likely to be the Hub One restarting which could be caused by a watchdog reset.

From the Hub home page navigate to >Troubleshooting >Event log and look for message

Boot reason: watchdog reset (cause: 0xn) where n = 0,1,2 or 3

This message should be around a time you noticed the Hub last failed.

If you are seeing this message then indeed the Hub needs replacing

HTH
