Firmware updates on Router

I've just become aware that I should make sure that our router is receiving firmware updates. We have had a Hub 1 type router for some time.
1) Should firmware updates still be coming through from Plusnet?

2) How can I check the firmware version number?

@HMD68 The current - and probably final - f/w version for the Hub1 is:

4.7.5.1.83.8.289.1.3
