Interleaving problem, fastpath request

I had a few disconnects a few days ago and now It seems i have been placed on interleaving, ping times have gone up in games by 10ms or so which bothers me, is it possible to be placed back on fastpath?

only stats i can find from the hub are...

Data rate:20 Mbps / 79.994 Mbps

Maximum data rate:28.597 Mbps / 111.018 Mbps

Noise margin:12.2 / 9.5

Line attenuation:4.3 / 9.5

Signal attenuation:4.3 / 10.9

@papawaigo Plusnet will not be able to help. They have no control over interleaving or other line parameters on FTTC. Everything is under automatic control by the Openreach DLM (Dynamic Line Management) You have a very good short line so I'm surprised it's interleaved, you will just have to wait and see if it changes.

It's still on interleaved (bad pings), I thought they could just reset the DLM?

@papawaigo , to echo what @RealAleMadrid said, Plusnet have no control over the settings on FTTC - it is all down to the automatic control by Openreach equipment.

I can do a DLM reset but this may have an adverse effect on the speed

@jab1 I don't believe a DLM reset will have any effect on line already in sync at the maximum speeds, why it is interleaved is a bit of a mystery.🤔

it may have been from roadworks outside the house last week causing some problems,

@Gandalf Yes please, that would be good as the last time i had this problem i think someone reset it then and it put me back on fastpath then.

The hub had not re synced so I just switched it off for 35 mins to see if there is any change and pings are still high (20ms to bbc.co.uk , when its usually 12ms, same with google.co.uk 21ms and other tests)

stats seem the same, seems like I'm still on interleaving adding the 8 ms delay,

Ah sorry to see this although I did think it'd have been a long shot anyway.

I've placed an order to drop the connection's stability profile down to the speed profile. This should hopefully encourage DLM in its decision making and not apply things to keep a connection stable like interleaving so readily.

I can't promise anything but the order will complete tomorrow and the changes should begin to take effect from then.

Might take a week or two for interleaving to be potentially removed automatically.

thanks for the quick help, i hope so, I'm a csgo player so pings are really important to me, I'm look into getting fiber to the property as i think plusnet added this recently and this has no interleaving at all? and also maybe also a tiny bit less latency? only problem is you lose the landline it seems.

No problem, as RealAleMadrid suggested, we don't have control over individual settings for an FTTC line, so we would not have added interleaving. It will have been due to DLM changing the settings on your line in response to error rates etc.

Full Fibre doesn't use DLM so there'd be no interleaving to worry about here and if you'd want to keep your landline while upgrading then we can sign you up to BT as a way of cancelling your account with no cancellation charges.

I'll be happy to arrange for someone to call you back if you'd like to talk about upgrading.

Ok something weird is going on now, the connection has been dropping several times today and each time it comes back up the speed is slower

its currently at

no idea how or why all the stats have changed so much and now the speed has pretty much halved

maybe its retraining or something?

@papawaigo You now have a line fault, the line attenuation has increased dramatically which only happens when there is a physical connection problem. Report it using the text based fault checker in help and support.

I agree, testing your line now is showing a high resistance fault.

Is your hub plugged into the master telephone socket using the cables with provided? If so would you be able to try plugging it into what's known as the test socket explained Here?

Should rule out any internal wiring before we potentially arrange an engineer visit to investigate further.
