No Internet

Hi, ya'll. Erm...My internet speed is always okay as was promised by Plusnet...but since moving to a new area I'm getting more and more that when I switch on my pc I'm told no Internet, or it comes and goes; and I'm having to restart the computer all the time. Any suggestions will be so grateful - Oh, if you are offering advice it has to be in baby, and I mean BABY English. I am a complete tech cabbage! Regards, Ziggy.

I'm really sorry you are having issues with your connection and I can imagine the hassle this is causing you.

I'm sorry for the delay in getting back you you, we're are more busier than usual so it is taking longer than I would like to get back to you.

I can see you called up and spoke to a member of the team Thursday and the connection is looking much better with the changes they made.

How has it been at your side?

Dr Ziggy Abd El Malak 18:34 (1 minute ago) to Plusnet Hi SammyM, thanks for replying...It's still come and go. One minute almost regular and perfect, the next saying NO INTERNET, letting me into one thing but not another...then it all comes back, then fades again. Something just aint right! Ziggy.

I understand Ziggy but it can take a few days to settle, can you let me know how it performed tomorrow and if it is still dropping I can raise the issue further.

Ziggy here again. So from late yesterday till now [8.15pm on 28th] I've got everything I use and subscribe to, opening what I would call instantly - no stalling, no hiccups. EXCEPT Facebook. It just wont load. Cheers.

Hi there. It's Wednesday and things appear to be back to good speed, instant connection...except Facebook, which is hitm and miss; and sometimes still when I first switch on my pc it says NO INTERNET CONNECTION then starts. Cheers, Ziggy.

Hi there, Gandalf. Facebook and YouTube still are not right. Won't load or fade in and out. You'll remember the blip FB had a couple of weeks ago when many people were getting their old profiles and pictures from the past...i had that. that resolved itself but since then as i say the loadfing, or a notice popping up say NO INTERNET CONNECTION or fading in and out happens still with FB and sometimes YouTube. I don't use FB on my phone but have just logged in at your suggestion and I don't believe it...it's still stuck on the old profile . This is driving me crazy, especially as I'm paying, obviously, a monthly bill for the service; and I need my pc for a course I'm doing and can't let that be messed up. Can you please help me? I'm really sorry for the frustration and I do understand this is important for you.

As you're only having issues with two websites/apps, at this stage I'd like to rule out an issue with your computer.

Do you have a smartphone or tablet by any chance?

Gandalf, hi. No...just a regular Xperia L1 phone and no tablet. I've just been printing stuff and it actually all went off saying NO INTERNET. Paper stuck in the printer half way done. I put oc off, restarted and we are back. Something is very wrong some where with my connection. Please solve this for me. Ziggy.

Hi Ziggy,

Our tests are showing no drops at all for the last 9 days with your router getting a speed of 20mbps. If you have to turn your computer off and on to get things back to normal, then that may suggest an issue with your computer itself.

I do understand you've had no issues previously, but due to the way that technology works, things can go wrong.

An Xperia L1 is a smartphone so would be able to connect it to the WiFi to try your connection from that?

Hi there, again. The fone is behaving like the pc...everything else OK except Facebook. I think I said, when i log into FB on the fone it is still stuck in the old profile, old pics, old friends pages like the pc was when FB had their blip a couplf of weeks ago! Weird. Could FB have jammed something in my system? I've contacted them explaining to see if that helps. Cheers, Ziggy.
