Unable to access some sites due to security issues

I am having problems accessing some sites from laptop and phone - Halifax and Tesco - and am getting this message:

Access Denied

You don't have permission to access "http://dce-homepage.tesco.com/" on this server.

Don't understand dce ...

Have same issue on my mobile with the apps for these companies.

However I turn off wifi and use my mobile data on my phone I can get in so it must be something on the plusnet router but no idea why this is happening.

@DW92 Welcome to the forum.

It’s not your ‘router’. I use a different hub and get ‘the server can’t be found ‘

Either way I would be very careful accessing a http web site these

days.

Have you tried changing it to https?

Thanks for reply but I am accessing https://www.tesco.com on my laptop and get this back:

Access Denied

You don't have permission to access "http://dce-homepage.tesco.com/" on this server.

Access also denied on my phone app using wifi but can get in on my phone when using mobile data so suggests to me the problem must be Plusnet.

https://www.tesco.com is working fine on my PN connection and I'm sure if it was a PN wide issue the forum would be full of complaints.

Hmm well am I at home using my Branson Media connection (Virgin Media).

https://www.tesco.com seems to load fine.

http://dce-homepage.tesco.com doesn't give me 'Access Denied' just the page could not be displayed.

Could be a server problem and nothing to do with the ISP?

Thanks again for suggestions - but exactly the same with clearing cache and using different browser.

This is what is happening:

Tesco and Halifax sites - both https:// - LAPTOP Chrome & Bing cannot access with message stating security issues (wifi connection)

Tesco & Halifax apps - android phone (wifi) - cannot access

Tesco & Halifax apps - android phone (mobile data) - SUCCESS!

I'm sorry to see you're unable to access Tesco's site from your Plusnet broadband connection.

Can you reboot your router and try again?

Doesn't look like your connection's dropped in over a month, so I'd like to see if a restart will fix this first.
