    <description>I have a real issue with line rental and always have. It has become another means to scam customers and lock people into contracts. Moved to Plusnet based on the low cost line rental saver paid up front as well as the fast unlimited broadband. I came back to Plusnet after Sky took over Be. I had been a previous Plusnet customer and had left because of these tactics in the past and a steady increase in usage caps and throttling at the time.&lt;BR /&gt;Line rental is an extortion. The cost of maintaining the copper network does not justify the cost charged to customers. It is simply another device to make 'extra' money on top of the broadband package.&lt;BR /&gt;I also did not realize until renewing that I do not get *ANY* inclusive free weekend or evening calls on my LRS package. Something that I used to get with BT at what is now the same price plus 12 months up front prepaid discount. if I could get broadband only at the same price I pay now I would be back to BT for line rental like a shot! &lt;BR /&gt;The one good thing is I use the land line rarely since I use my mobile phone more these days. My main issue however is because I have a usage cap on my mobile this also means that certain numbers are blocked including 0845 and even 0800 numbers. So I still have to use the land line on occasion to contact certain companies (at present that is Churchill insurance over an insurance claim who only use a 0845 number for their recoveries/legal advice department).&lt;BR /&gt;The other issue is I paid 12 months up front for line rental but am locked into 18 months broadband which puts both out of sync with each other. This just makes things awkward if you wanted to get out of the LRS early. I don't know how this would effect the remaining contracted broadband months.&lt;BR /&gt;Although I have made a saving with Plusnet and have a better overall deal broadband wise and did save on the initial line rental I still feel like Plusnet are trying to pull themselves in line with other providers price wise (and probably are having their strings pulled by BT their overseer) and make a bigger profit at the expense of their overall image as a value for money provider. &lt;BR /&gt;There is now very little to differentiate Plusnet from their competitors.&lt;BR /&gt;It's all a bit sad really.</description>

      <description>My discount doesn't mention whether it's against the broadband or phone but, either way, I just assume the discount is kept but you still have the increase in line rental and call plan charges.</description>

      <description>It looks like all the big phone/internet providers are now charging either £15.95 or £15.99 a month except Sky (£15.40, but for how long?). Isn't competition wonderful? It's not all that long ago that this would have been a normal quarterly price.</description>

      <description>Ok let's get this straight?&lt;BR /&gt;I am paying full price for fibre that doesn't work properly,&amp;nbsp; no discounts for me.&lt;BR /&gt;I have also paid full price for LRS.&amp;nbsp; Again no discount for me.&lt;BR /&gt;I have to pay extra for caller display to.&lt;BR /&gt;I agreed a 24 month contract with PLUSNET at the beginning of the year when I changed to fibre.&lt;BR /&gt;Yet again Plusnet are giving each and every customer the big UP YOURS.&lt;BR /&gt;You demand I sign up to binding contracts at a certain price, you even demand payment of the bill before its even due (as I pay by card and not DD)&lt;BR /&gt;BUT.&amp;nbsp; When it suits Plusnet you ignore everything and put the bill up.&lt;BR /&gt;You laugh in my face in treat me with utter contempt.&lt;BR /&gt;So now it's time I treat PLUSNET with the contempt you deserve.&lt;BR /&gt;I will not pay the extra.&lt;BR /&gt;I will not be treated this way.&lt;BR /&gt;I'm off.</description>

      <description>Are we now paying more for telephony and broadband than we did 5 or 10 years ago? &amp;nbsp;I don't think so but the telephony charges have gone up and up whilst the broadband charges have gone down. &amp;nbsp;I doubt that this is any reflection of real costs, just companies loading their telephony charges in order to subsidise their broadband. &amp;nbsp;Unless Ofcom intervenes then we are all in the grip of the current fashion.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;SPAN style="font-size:8pt"&gt;&lt;I&gt;Edited to correct spelling erro&lt;/I&gt;&lt;/SPAN&gt;r &amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;</description>

      <description>Although, as pointed out above, the increase in line rental (for me) is in the region of 6.7% and the Anytime plan around11%, there doesn't seem much difference between the major players.&lt;BR /&gt;My personal view (especially after jumping ship over two years ago then returning to the fold less than a year later) I'd rather stay with PN where I feel the service is far superior and the Digital Care Team among the best support you can find.&lt;BR /&gt;Of course, if PN continue to push their prices up above the competition than I may have to rethink.</description>
