End contract

I have about 18 months to the end of my contract, how do I find out how much my cancellation fee would be?

Have been with plusnet for a least 20 years and can't seem to end my contract without a cancellation fee.

Loyalty doesn't seem to matter any more.

PN have a contract with OpenReach to supply the line used for your internet / phone. So if you cancel then they have to pay OR.

The only way to get an exact figure is to phone PN - staff can't / won't speak about this in the Forum. Try the PlusNet Customer Options Team on 0800 013 2632. There may be a webpage in the PN Help section which gives more details. Try the Legal pages.

Rough guide is the number of months left minus a discount for PN cost not incurred.

@bob4357 No-one is going to let you end a contract a quarter of the way in.The best way to find your costs is to call Customer Options on 0800 013 2632

I did , they emailed me saying it would be about £170, which I thought was cheap considering when I looked at a site on Google they say £300, so not sure who to believe, and what to do.

Do not need 500 now as only use it for emails, so 150 would be enough

The difference between 150 and 500 Mbps is about £5 per month. Over 18 months that’s £90. So keeping things as they are will cost half the price of cancelling the service.

when you contacted COTS did you ask about a downgrade from FF500 to FF145 ? that may be possible subject to starting a new contract
