Are the charges on EE's broadband better than Plusnet's?

If you read the Email, I understand that if you move to EE your broadband and phone service will continue until the end of your current contract at the same price as you are currently paying. The difference is that you unplug your existing phone from the BT socket and plug the same phone into a socket in the back of a new EE router. Just be aware that if you move before any Plusnet email address has migrated to Greenby, it will be lost and not recoverable. Also, the phone will not work during a power cut.

At the end of the contract you negotiate a new contract with EE or move on to another ISP.

Sorry, I should have been paying attention better I know.

But have EE bought Plusnet now, and is that why EE is all over the Plusnet site?

I received an email about keeping my landline and Plusnet handing me over to EE. However, my deal doesn't end until Dec 2026, so can they still do this mid-contract?

Are the charges on EE's broadband better than Plusnet's?

Thanks

Both EE & PN are part of the BT Group. EE offer both VOIP landline and internet - PN don't.

First question is - do you want to keep a VOIP landline?

If yes do you want to stay with a provider who offers both - easiest way to do it.

Or would you be happy to stay with PN and use a VOIP provider. More work to start with but potentially cheaper in the long run.

So if I went with EE, would I have to have VOIP? I currently just have a bog-standard phone that I use with Plusnet.

@Portoman

As far as I'm aware you'll be offered Digital Voice, which is the BT version of VOIP. You'd need to look at the BT website for further details.

There are plentry of independant VOIP suppliers. One well recommended is A&A - see

https://www.aa.net.uk/voice-and-mobile/voip-information/

Finally, while you might have to accept early termination charges on PN other ISP's offer both. Have a look at Zen Internet for example.

Brian

PS Do you use PN email?

EE offer Internet + Digital Voice ( the phone service )

The EE Router has a BT style of telephone socket on the rear side,
your current telephone or cordless phones connect to that.
