@kitkat A bit more detail would be useful. Do you have a traditional landline phone service and did you want retain your phone number. The PSTN phone service is being withdrawn around the end of this year, possibly earlier and Plusnet are not supplying any phone service but you can still have Plusnet Broadband and transfer your phone to a third party VOIP supplier.

It appears the agent you spoke to has been instructed to push customers to EE who do provide an expensive VOIP like phone which is proprietary to BT/EE to lock you into their service.

Plusnet have not changed to EE. You can cancel the change to EE if you feel you have been misled.

I was asked if I wanted the anytime landline and I said yes and keep my number. EE has sent an email for me to give password to log in. It wasn’t accepted and a passcode was sent but not used it yet. They are sending me a new router to use EE. I don’t want to leave plusnet and very happy with them. So at a loss as to what is going on.

"I was asked if I wanted the anytime landline and I said yes and keep my number."

With the answering being, yes i do, I would imagine this would prompt the transersfer of the account to EE as there was request to keep the landline and phone number, which is a service plusnet do not offer.

The alternative to this, unless you know about transferring the number to a VoIP provider, would be the landline number would be lost.

Not sure the sales person would advise of alternative VoIP services from third party companies for a landline phone service.

I appreciate that PN/EE/BT are all answered from the same call centre(s) these days, irrespective of the called number, but they should be replied to in the name of the called 'number', which I presume is different for each 'entity'?

Hi John. What day it’s been when all I wanted to do was renew contract. I’ve cancelled EE and yes I was mislead from the word go. Plusnet sent a message about me leaving and to contact them and I have. They are stopping the anytime calls and to call them back in December about who to go with for the landline. I am still with plusnet I phoned the number I usually use to renew their service but was then told they were moving to EE so they must have intercepted the number. Thank goodness I went on to the forum because I would never have know that I was misled. There again I must have felt something was wrong. I have wasted a full day on this and so angry that I was misled. I hope this post helps someone else trying to renew their plusnet contract. I thank you all for all your help. I need a stiff drink after all this.😂
