Being evicted, been told to pay £225.11 for early termination

Hi, I've already chatted to support on the phone, but they weren't able to help. We've been told to move out in April so the Landlord's daughter can move in. I'm having to move in with family until we can find somewhere new. Is there any way the early termination fee can be waived or reduced? We would happily freeze our contract until we find somewhere new, but I don't know when that will be yet.

So you have been served a section 21 notice?

That doesn't mean you have to move out on that date, its when they would like you to. Firstly is the S21 valid?

If it is then you can make the landlord take you to court to get you evicted which will take months to do and cost them money.

Or you could say you will comply but they have to cover your costs and make them pay the £225.11

We would be able to arrange a house move the second you have an address and a date of moving in.

This would stop the billing, but without that, there isn't a great deal we can do for you I am afraid.

I would look into what 400ixl has mentioned, I have no experience with the ins and outs of having a landlord move you out under those conditions.

But, I can't see looking into what they recommended hurting.

To me it seems unfair that Plusnet have "force majeure" terms which allow them to break the contract without penalty (e.g. if their suppliers no longer provide the service), but the customer has no such right when something beyond their control causes them to break the contract (e.g. being evicted).
