      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi I've just received an email stating that I'm in credit, but my account was SUPPOSED to have been closed. SO they took the payment and credited my account when I have no service.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Why is Plusnet still taking money on a closed account. Plus how do I get back the money they've already taken.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Also, how long ago did you move away?&amp;nbsp; If your bill was generated before you left (even if it was after you giving notice) you would still be billed the full amount.&amp;nbsp; You'd then get a final bill around 20 days (I think that's the right time frame) later, which would likely be a refund.&amp;nbsp; It is usually only after that the account is closed down.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;The answer is&lt;STRONG&gt; leave your direct debit in place&lt;/STRONG&gt; and a refund will be issued on the next billing cycle after you've left.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I'm not at all sure on how the timing works but when I closed an account (somewhat over a year ago) the monthly payment went through around the same time as I think billing is created slightly in advance. Then on the next cycle that was well after the termination I was refunded.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;That old account is still there and marked as "closing" but showing a credit dated 14th March 2024. My direct debit refunded that.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
