Promotional discount on bill not the same amount as unlimited fibre cost

Hello,

I had a problem last year where the discount on my Plusnet bill was less than the cost of the unlimited fibre per month. This was rectified via the community and a Plusnet employee. Looking at my latest bill I can see that the promotional discount is £20.77 but the unlimited fibre cost is £21.23. Can anyone explain why this might be or is this an error in Plusnet’s billing.

Hi @Space-1999 the discount that gets added to accounts doesn't always cover the full broadband package. The new deals and discounts change all the time, this isn't an error. You're getting the price you agreed on the contract.

This problem looks like the same as I had last year and the bill had to be amended. I have also had cause in the last couple of months to contact Plusnet as the broadband discount on one bill wasn’t applied to my bill at all and I therefore had to pay the bill first and the get credited back the broadband discount which was over £21. So this is why I think the billing is incorrect. Also why is the promotional discount 97.83% of the cost of the broadband?.

@Space-1999 I can confirm your bills are the correct amount as what was agreed on in the contract. The discounts have been applied to your account which means you won't have the same issue as you had previously.

The discount for the broadband can be any %, it all depends on what offers are on at the time you sign up.

Unlimited Fibre £21.23
Promotional Discount -£20.77
My Referral -£1.25
So unfortunately your explanation didn't make it any clearer.

Based on the figures you have provided if you add £26.53+ £11.76+£21.23 this gives you £59.52 with no discounts.

If you then take off the promotional discount is this still incorrect? Ignoring the referral discount at the moment that is.
