Were you explicitly told - in writing - that there were no cancellation fees - I doubt it. If you signed a standard contract, the warning that you would be liable for ETCs is within that contract.

I joined Plusnet 16 years ago and have been satisfied with the service, but now wish to change as they are unable to provide Full Fibre to my 15th floor flat. But I am told I have to pay cancellation fees of £14 a month to 2024 albeit when I signed up to Plusnet there were no cancellation fees. I consider this to be a scam, claiming that I accepted the new contract when I renewed in 2022. Any suggestions?

I recall that they definately promised no cancellation charges in their deal when i signed up.

Full Fibre is available in my building provided by Community Fibre who wired up the whole building by agreement with Westminster City Council.

If you haven't got that 'no cancellation fees' in writing, then the standard T&Cs apply.

That explains a lot - BT obviously haven't got round to installing FF infrastructure in your area, and CF will be your only option.
