Transfer to bt essentials

Morning, I was told by both plusnet and bt that if I transfer my broadband from on to by essential there is no termination fees as their both owned by bt, and yet I receive an email saying £202 early termination fees due from plusnet!???

@bburtonshaw Did you arrange the transfer via Plusnet? AFAIK,if you did, there is an agreement to waive the ETCs. If you did it without this, then the transfer is treated like any other. I suggest you contact PN and see if you can get them cancelled.

When I phoned plusnet to transfer I was told that I need to phone bt !

You were wrongly informed - you need to phone PN, ask them to note on your account that you are moving to BT, and then they should transfer you to BT to place the order with them - unless the procedure has changed recently.
