I've recently switched from XP to Windows7, but unfortunately  trusty old SJ Phone isn't compatible with Windows 7 and there is no Vista/Windows 7 version, so I wondered what would be the recommended softphone to use?

I think X-Lite ( possibly the beta 4.0 ) works on Windows 7. Take a look here http://www.counterpath.ne.../x-lite.html&active=4

I just upgraded to windows 7 and I went straight to the SJ Phone page and downloaded the latest version and it's gone right on without any problems and wonrks fine. Did you try it and if so did you get any error messages?

It is possible that in the last few days they have updated it for windows 7 but there is nothing on the download page to suggest that is the case.
